If this is your first time stopping by, consider this your warm welcome.
And if you're a long-time friend of State of Maine Cheese, welcome back.
Either way, I'm so grateful you're here and have found a source for quality, tasty cheeses from Maine.
We've been around for decades, opening our doors in Camden-Rockport in 1983.
But since 2019, my family's 4th generation farm - Springdale Farm in Waldo - has been home.
I couldn't be happier making cheese half a mile down the road from our beloved doe-eyed Jersey and majestic Guernsey cows.
Their luscious creamy milk is what cheese dreams are made of and it's my true honor to transform it into a line of products that are enjoyed and shared in our community and beyond.
In carrying on the tradition, we've kept the classic lineup of State of Maine Cheeses including:
Cheddar, Monterey Jack, Gouda and our wildly popular Fresh Cheese Curds.
These hard cheeses perfectly compliment the line of my own Springdale Farm cheeses I began to develop in 2015:
Fresh Cream Cheese, Queso Tencho and Triple Cream Brie.
I truly believe that when food is produced with heart and soul, you can taste it - and isn't that the beauty of farm fresh.
I can't imagine a truer expression of my heart and soul than producing cheeses from the pastures we grow, the cows we nurture and the creamy nutrient dense milk they produce - you can taste it in every flavorful bite.
I'm so grateful I get to share our own slice of Maine with you.
Warmly,
Carrie Whitcomb
